Westview girls win opener

Westview opened its 2017-18 varsity girls basketball campaign last Thursday with a 49-37 triumph over visiting East Noble.

Ashya Klopfenstein dropped in 18 points, grabbed eight rebounds and blocked seven shots to lead the Lady Warriors, who used spurts of 15-7 and 15-9 in the middle two periods to build up a 36-21 advantage. Payton May pitched in 10 points, 11 boards and three blocks to the winning ledger. Summer Konkle collected five steals and four assists.

Avan Beiswanger tallied 11 points and Kara Kline sank 10 for East Noble.
