Westview girls destroy Sturgis

Westview claimed its sixth varsity girls basketball victory of the season Tuesday night with a 68-20 rout of visiting Sturgis.

The Lady Warriors began to pull away in the second quarter, as a 17-4 run booted them to a 30-10 halftime advantage. Coach Randy Yoder’s squad put together a 22-4 spurt in the third period, boosting the margin to 38 points (52-14).

Ashya Klopfenstein led Westview in scoring with 19 points. Alex Burr was next with 11 and Payton May added 10.

Burr topped the winners in rebounds with seven. Summer Konkle made five steals and dished out six assists.

Sage Groves tallied five points for Sturgis.
