Wanda Hoover

Wanda Jean Hoover, 84, LaGrange, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Life Care Center of LaGrange.

    She was born November 26, 1929, in Kosciusko County, Ind., to Dewey and Iva (Hoppis) Rhoades.

    Living in LaGrange since 1963, she was a sewing machine operator at Shadow Interiors in Shipshewana and Artisen Interiors in Middlebury. She was a member of the First Church of God in LaGrange and volunteered at LaGrange County Council on Aging for many years.

    She was married June 28, 1951, in Wabash, Ind., to Eugene W. Hoover. He preceded her in death on June 30, 1997.

    Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Douglas Wine, Ligonier, Ind., and Peggy and Robert Kapaldo, Howe; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Raymond and Colleen Hoover, LaGrange, Donald Hoover, Wolcottville, Marvin and Cindy Hoover, LaGrange, Dennis and Debbie Hoover, Elkhart, and David and Chelly Hoover, White Pigeon, Mich.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Arden and Mary Rhoades, Warsaw, Ind., Phil and Cheryl Rhoades, Goshen, and Eddie and Sharon Rhoades of Oelwein, Iowa.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Norma Tethrake, Donna Troupe and Melba Fleischauer, and one brother, Max Rhoades.

    Visitation is 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 17, and 10-11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange.

    Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, at Frurip-May Funeral Home in LaGrange with Reverend Nancy Warren officiating.

    Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Howe.

    Memorials may be directed to the First Church of God in LaGrange.
