Lakeland spikers fall to East Noble

Despite getting 17 kills, four service aces and three blocked shots from Bailey Hartsough, the Lakeland varsity volleyball team fell short against East Noble, 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 25-16 last Thursday night in Kendallville.

Jennifer West chipped in four kills to the Lady Laker attack. Sadie Edsall totaled three aces and a team-high seven digs. Peighton Hedges finished with six digs and Whittney Ray collected 14 assists and five digs.

Morgan Dwyer led East Noble at the net with 15 kills. Kathryn DeCamp smacked five aces, Halle Beiswanger racked up 34 assists and Payton Butler made 15 digs.

Westview shaded Northridge, 26-24, 25-23, 25-21 in a non-conference volleyball match between the neighboring rivals last Thursday evening in Middlebury.

Payton May slapped nine kills and both Gloria Miller and Alex Burr knocked down six for the 6-8 Lady Warriors. Miller and May also bashed three service aces apiece, with Jensen Reynolds serving two. Reghan Heffner collected 18 assists.

Miller had four blocks (three solo) to spearhead the Westview defense. Burr stuffed a couple of shots. Heffner topped the dig chart with 11, followed by May with 10 and Tori Antal with nine.

Makena Knepp totaled six kills and Ria Reschly four for the Lady Raiders. Jadyn Huffman produced three aces and both Carah Christner and Maddie Boomershine delivered two. Christner led Northridge in assists with 11 and both Huffman and Madi Demeter made seven digs.
