Howe sewer public meeting Wednesday

A public meeting on the upcoming sewer system that will stretch from the toll road service plazas to Howe will be held Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m. in the Howe Military Academy Auditorium.

The hearing will include a presentation by project engineers on the system, and will also allow for questions and comments from the public.

The project will include collection lines around Cedar Lake, around the CR 50 and CR 700N area, and down SR 9 into Howe. A wastewater treatment plant will be built on the northwest corner of SR 9 and CR 700N, according to plans.

Preliminary engineering plans for the project are available for review at the LaGrange County Regional Utility District Office, 116 E. Wayne St. in LaGrange.

The proposed schedule for the project is: land and easement acquisition, September 2018; bids received, November 2018; construction, April 2019; system online, August 2020.
