Farmers market sees growth through grant

The Farmers Market in the Town of LaGrange was resurrected five years ago. At that time, there was one Amish vendor. Last year, with a $60,800 two-year grant through the USDA and lots of advertising through the local paper, radio and social media, the market has 27 certified vendors.

The market is growing through offering special programs such as the Strawberry Festival, featuring special youth programs, offering WIC and senior citizen vouchers, and soon to be added SNAP.
