Farmer’s market vendor seminars

Purdue Extension will host a series of five webinars and local discussion for farmer’s market vendors and market masters. The series of programs will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month starting next Tuesday evening and continuing through March.

Participants can attend the program in the first floor meeting room of the LaGrange County Office Building at 114 West Michigan Street (just north of the Courthouse) in LaGrange. There is no charge to attend, but pre-registration is encouraged.

This Farmers Market Vendor Workshop Series, part of the Purdue Extension Market Basket 360 initiative, is designed to help market vendor’s businesses thrive and grow at the farmers market. The series will bring together vendors, market managers, county health departments, and expert presenters to learn, discuss, and clarify market policies and food safety regulations. Business and marketing topics will be covered as well. The following topics will be covered:

• November 14     Establishing Your Business

• December 12     Setting Up at The Market

• January 9             Food Safety and Home-based Vendor Rules

• February 13        Local Health Department and Networking night

• March 13             Marketing
