Emma Swartzentruber

Emma Swartzentruber, 92, Goshen, Ind., died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Greencroft Health Care Center.

    She was born November 9, 1924, in Kokomo, Ind., to Henry B. and Esther (Beachy) Yoder.

    She was a homemaker and member of Griner Mennonite Church in Middlebury.

    She was married November 25, 1948, in Plain City, Ohio, to Enos Swartzentruber. He preceded her in death on July 31, 2007.

    Surviving are six daughters, Esther (Owen) Hershberger and Carol (Harry) Scribner, both of Goshen, Ind., Mary Swartzentruber, Hutchinson, Kan., Becky (Al) Yoder, Sarasota, Fla., Rhoda (Menno) Hochstedler, Topeka, and Alma (Alfred) Yoder, Rosedale, Ohio; one son, Dale (Elsie) Swartzentruber, Nappanee, Ind.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; nine stepgreat-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Jonas Yoder, Jamesport, Mo., John Yoder, Crab Orchard, Ky., Lester Yoder, Garnett, Kan., and Henry (Viola) Yoder, Kalona, Iowa; and one sister, Alma (Glen S.) Miller, Goshen, Ind.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Naomi Swartzentruber, three sisters, Bertha Bontrager, Fannie Gingerich, and Ruby Yoder, and two brothers, Allen and Ezra Yoder.

    Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Sunday, August 13, at Miller-Stewart Funeral Home in Middlebury and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, August 14, at Griner Mennonite Church in Middlebury.

    Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 14, at Griner Mennonite Church in Middlebury with Pastor DeWayne Yoder and Pastor Robert Riegsecker officiating.

    Burial will be in Miller Cemetery, Goshen.
