Buggy fails to yield, is hit by pickup

A buggy failed to yield to traffic at an intersection on November 2 and was hit by a pickup.

    According to the report from the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department, a buggy driven by Mervin Miller, 56, of Ligonier was traveling we3st on CR 800S when it failed to stop at the intersection with SR 8. The buggy was hit by a 2001 Dodge Durango pickup driven by Gabriel Arreola Jr., 31, of Ligonier, which was traveling north on SR 5.

    Miller was taken to Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne for neck pain. Arreola Jr. was not injured.

    Assisting at the scene was the Topeka Police Department, Topeka Fire Department, and Parkview medics.
